My Cakes

Years ago when the kids were little, I took some cake decorating classes. You're probably familiar with the Wilton classes - they are offered at many craft stores around the country. I took levels 1, 2, and 3, as well as some extra classes on gum paste flowers and air brushing. Over the years, I've enjoyed making cakes for the holidays and family birthdays. This, of course, came to an abrupt halt when my husband got sick. But in late 2010, when my son turned 14, I picked up the pastry bag again and turned out a nice cake for him. Then I did one for my daughter's birthday. Slowly, I am starting to do cakes again.

I thought I'd post these photos of the cakes and cupcakes I've done over the past 8 years or so (in no particular order). I apologize, as some of the photography is not too great. I didn't think I'd ever be posting these pictures on a blog. There are plenty of cake decorating web sites and blogs out there... it isn't my intention to add another one. But if you enjoy cake decorating, I know that (if you're like me), you enjoy looking at cakes done by others. Perhaps you'll pick up and idea or two. Enjoy....
